What do you need to know about vaping?

What is vaping?

Using an e-cigarette is sometimes called vaping, from the word vapor. E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices that heat liquid to release an aerosol (vapor) inhaled by the user. The liquid can contain propylene glycol, nicotine, flavorings and other substances. E-cig makers and supporters claim they provide a healthier alternative to smoking. Many users think they are an acceptable way to use nicotine where smoking isn’t allowed.

Benefits of vaping

 safer than smoking

Since there’s no combustion, tar or ash associated with vaping, switching to it from smoking enables the user to experience health benefits from being smoke-free. That means better oral hygiene, skin health, circulation, lung capacity and an improved sense of smell and taste.

Prevent Bad Smelling

One of the biggest advantages of vaping is that you and your environment won’t smell of smoke. Vaping may have an aroma from the flavors used, but it’s not the smoke from dead tobacco leaves! To some people, the smell of vapor is barely noticeable. Sometimes you might even get a few complements on the aroma. Even if you vape tobacco flavors, it won’t smell like the rank fumes that come from burning tobacco leaves.

Control over nicotine intake

Vaping gives you full control over your nicotine dosage. E-juice is available in a variety of strengths, ranging from nicotine-free to high-strength nicotine. You can choose exactly how much nicotine is in your vape, if you decide to use any at all. Most vapers tend to start off with high nicotine levels, and gradually work their way down to lower levels, or eliminate it completely.

Instant satisfaction

The convenience factor is high with vapes due to how quickly you can silence cravings. Although advanced vapes may require initial tinkering, lots come prefilled and are ready for immediate use. Either way, once the vape is ready, taking a hit is as simple as pushing a button or drawing on the device (some have an automatic draw). While all vapes need a charged battery and e-juice to continue working, the average vape can sustain you throughout the day with no maintenance or upkeep. It’s ready when you are.

What is Sub-ohming

What do you need to know about vaping

Sub-ohm vaping is a style of vaping that produce big clouds of vapour and a stupendous amount of flavour. This is achieved through using a sub-ohm device, which uses lower resistance coils that are typically less than 1ohm on a battery that can deliver a high wattage.

DTL vs MTL:

What is direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping?

The idea here is to slowly and smoothly inhale the vapour directly to your lungs, as though you are ‘breathing’ the vapour in, then exhale a magnificent cloud You don’t necessarily have to fill your lungs like the cloud-chasers do, but can take smaller inhales if you prefer.

What is mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping?

Considered much more similar to conventional smoking than the aforementioned inhale, MTL inhales follow the principle of drawing the vapour into the mouth first and then inhaling to the lungs, before exhaling a smaller volume of vapour.

Is it better to inhale DTL or MTL when vaping?

There is no right way or wrong way to inhale, it’s down to personal preference. However, if you want to blow the biggest clouds then inhaling DTL using a sub-ohm device is the way to go. You are also unlikely to vape MTL on a sub-ohm device which uses high power and has increased airflow in the tank.

Different Types of vaping device

What do you need to know about vaping

Cig-a-like

This is the oldest model; a cigalike (from the English cig-a-like, resembling a cigarette) is an electronic cigarette that mimics the shape of a traditional cigarette (tobacco cigarette).

If it remains attractive at first, for the smoker a cigalike usually offers very little autonomy (battery) and produces very little steam. We advise you to avoid this type of model if you are in the process of smoking cessation.

A cigalike has other disadvantages of operating on a closed system. That is to say it usually requires the purchase of refills that are only available with the brand of the cigalike purchased which makes the choice very small and the Price often quite high.

Pen style

Pen stylevapeices are slightly larger than cig-a-likes but offer a larger battery for longer life and usually come with a clearomizer style tank. These devices are often inexpensive and simple to use. While they do have a longer battery life and the tank helps to eliminate refilling as quickly. The device can handle both direct-to-lung and mouth-to-lung inhalation methods. Most vape pens can handle up to 12 mg of nicotine and go up to 80 watts.

Vape Mod

Vape mods are the latest edition of devices in the vaping community known for its firepower and advanced personalization features. The term mod originates from a time when vapers would modify their flashlights into a vaping device.

Back in the day, vape enthusiasts experimented in making the existing devices better and the macgyver in them wanted to know how far they can push their vapes. Although they got their fat plumy clouds, it didn’t come without some sketchy moments and some explosions.

Mechanical Device

Mechanical mods are very simplistic in design. Many people believe mechanical mods are best suited for experienced vapers. If you want to learn how to build your own atomizer or would like to customize your vaping experience, a mechanical mod is the perfect fit. You should also think about buying a mechanical mod if you want to learn how to build your own coils or need a device with the highest wattage capacity. If box mods are a preserve of the experience vaper, mech mods are a domain for the expert user only. These are the big leagues of vaping and it doesn’t get any bigger than this, whether we are talking tank capacity, battery life, wattage and what-not.

Is it Less Harmful than Smoking?

While inhaling anything other than oxygen into your lungs isn’t optimal for health, vaping is better for you than smoking. The primary reason for this difference is that vaping has a lower combustion point than smoking. In many vaping apparatuses, you can alter the combustion point to your preference.
The lower combustion means less heat entering your lung tissue. There’s also reason to believe that the lower combustion point limits the release of tar and ash, which are toxic to the lungs.
Additionally, the lack of second-hand smoke and residue makes vaping safer for the people around you as well. For these reasons, vaping is a safer alternative to smoking.

How Much CBD Should I Take the First Time?

The Caliburn series from Uwell is very popular and is growing with the Caliburn Koko Prime Kit. The square shape is similar to the Caliburn Koko Kit, but the design is a little more colourful. The Uwell Caliburn KOKO Prime is a tiny little e-cigarette (7cm high) that has a 2ml POD tank and is very suitable for beginners. Exchangeable MTL atomizer heads are used in the Caliburn Koko Prime, which makes them a very good baking steamer. Thanks to the automatic pull, it is more than easy to use, even for beginners. Design With a size of 68.0 x 45.6 x 16.0 mm and a weight of only 48 g, the Uwell Caliburn KOKO Prime is slightly larger than its predecessor, but the square and slim kit remain extremely compact and handy. It disappears almost completely in the palm of the hand and has a pleasant ergonomics and grip. The design of the Uwell Caliburn KOKO Prime is modern and very appealing and can be adapted even more individually thanks to the interchangeable side panels (available as accessories). With the practical lanyard, the neat Koko Prime Kit can also be worn comfortably around the neck if you don’t have your hands free. The Koko Prime Kit is available in the colours Black, Blue, Green, Red, Purple and Gray. Features Inside the Uwell Caliburn KOKO Prime Kit, a more powerful 690 mAh battery now works (previously 520 mAh); which ensures even longer steaming pleasure and can also be quickly recharged via the USB Type-C port on the bottom. Uwell has also increased the maximum output power to 18 watts (previously 11 W). With the Koko Prime, too, an LED display informs the steamer about the current battery level by changing its colour (green = high, blue = medium, red = low). You will also look in vain for a fire button or other buttons because a clever and reliably functioning automatic pull mechanism takes over all the work for the steamer and no further settings are required. Of course, all relevant protective circuits are also built into the Koko Prime Kit. The new pods of the Uwell Caliburn KOKO Prime Kit still have a tank volume of 2 ml. Now, however, the atomizer heads of the pods can be changed by inserting them; into the pod from below or pulling them out of the pod. This means that the entire pod does not have to be disposed of when the atomizer head; has reached the end of its service life. Two different coil variants are available. A 1.0 Ohm FeCrAl Regular G Coil for the more classic MTL / baking vaping; and a 0.8 Ohm FeCrAl UN2 Mesh Coil for restrictive DL vapour behaviour. Thanks to the Pro-FOCS flavour testing technology from Uwell, both coils impress with their excellent vapour and taste development. The pods are still filled from above. Conclusion With the Caliburn KOKO Prime, Uwell is now bringing a revised version of its second cross-country horse onto the market. Like the Caliburn G, it shines in a newly revised modern design and has gained a lot of battery capacity. As already known from the previous version, the pods and coils of the Caliburn G also find their place in the KOKO Prime
